Wahoo! I am getting so close to getting my website up and running. It has taken me months and months and so much longer than I had planned, but I love that I now know how to design a website on my own! On more than one occasion I wanted throw my computer out the window or smash it to pieces with a hammer, but I am happy to see I have some progress and it’s finally looking like an actual website. I am getting so excited to launch this thing! I am going to throw some kind of launching party with prizes and giveaways to celebrate. It’s going to be epic (epic for me because I thought this day would never come, especially with all the hiccups I’ve had and discouraging moments trying to teach web design to myself). I realized that I needed to get some blog posts started so I have some meat to this thing once it goes live. So for the next while, I will be blogging some of my favorite photo sessions from the past couple of years and I will leave the most recent photo sessions for we go live!
I am going to start with Heather & Zach Hicken, which was one of the first weddings I ever shot. Not only one of the first weddings, but also one of the first engagement and family sessions I ever did. I cringe a little bit as I go to post this because I see so many things I would like to go back and fix. I seriously debated going back and re-editing all of their sessions but then I thought better of it. This is all part of my journey! I love seeing the progress I’ve made and it’s encouraging to know I can continue to get better. I started with a little Nikon D40 and a bunch of nerves as I shot this wedding, but I loved every second of it.
This was Heathers second marriage, so we got to go out and take some really great engagement and family photos. It was so sweet to see how much Zach was already so loved by this family. Since then, I have taken several years worth of family photos and birth sessions and I have loved watching this family grow. Heather and Zach are expecting another baby soon and I cannot wait!
For Heather and Zach’s engagement session, we went to a great field out in Wallsburg. This place is a dream for photographers with lots of open land, cool cast-iron fences, all surrounded by these beautiful mountains.
Heather and Zach were married at Massimino Ranch in Oakley and it was so picturesque!
We took an extra day to do Groomals for Heather and Zach. Some people may argue that “Groomals” is not a word, but I am convinced that it is! Groomals are Bridal sessions that include the Groom! I always recommend these sessions to my clients because it takes so much pressure off of the wedding day. We can go at our own pace, no rush and get lots of great photos of just the Bride and Groom. As an added bonus, I always like to include dress reveal photos and catch that special moment when the Groom gets to see his Bride in her dress for the first time.
Welcome baby Sawyer! A Fresh 24 session (I love these sessions!).
Family pictures this year on Main Street in Heber.
