Today I want to feature one of my oldest clients (and oldest friends). Amanda and I met our first year of college at BYU. We called each other roommates, because neither of us actually had a roommate. We lived on the same floor; Amanda had a one person room and I had a two person room but no roommate. We stayed friends through the years, I moved away to Missouri and Amanda went on a mission. We both ended up back in Utah and continued with our traditional activities, which mostly included eating Cadbury Eggs and watching Friends. Unless we were feeling particularly daring, like the time we did a Polar Bear Plunge on New Years Day (FREEZING!!).
I had been working at P.F. Changs in Orem for a few years, which is where I met my husband, and where we were both still working. I put in a good word for my friend and Amanda joined us at P.F. Changs. My brother-in-law, Adam, also worked at P.F. Changs and as time went by Adam and Amanda fell in love and got married. I like to give myself the credit (because the world revolves around me, so why not ;)) and consider myself so lucky that one of my oldest friends is now also my sister-in-law.
Amanda was also one of the very first to put her trust in me to capture those special moments in her and Adam’s life. Through the years we have captured engagements, births, and family photos.
The first was Adam and Amanda’s engagement session, which were taken out at the Bonneville Salt Flats. I LOVE this location. Such a unique backdrop with gorgeous sunsets. Amanda picked some darling pieces to make this session really come to life. We may or may not have also gotten our mother-in-laws van stuck out there in the soft salt, but that story is for another day.
Just over a year later, this little man was born. Emmit’s birth was my first “Fresh 24” session and I fell in love with the experience. There is so much emotion and excitement to capture, especially when that sweet baby and all those emotions are so fresh! It makes the photos so genuine and real and I love that!
Snuck in a few family pictures on the beach in California. The husbands were thrilled about this idea!
We did some special 1st year photos with Emmit and his mom.
And this last year we took family pictures up at Tibble Fork Reservoir with a new addition, Isaac.
